Shamrock Event

Shamrock Event

Shamrock Project is part of our National Philanthropy efforts and is a very important event hosted by our chapter. It is a week of hard work and fundraising, but full of fun times with our friends! 80% of the money we raise goes to a local charity called Champaign Crisis Nursery and the remaining 20% percent goes towards Prevent Child Abuse America. Last year, Kappa Delta at the University of Illinois raised over $20,000 towards our cause and this year we hope to do even better!Shamrock
Shamrock Project consists of several events packed into one week. On going events throughout the week are can-shaking on the quad, our newest addition the 5k run, and t-shirt sales. This is probably one of the more visibly fun ways we have fun with Shamrock. We can be spotted and heard around the main quads on campus, shouting, and of course, wearing green. illinikd slideshow 13
Another popular event that we host is our annual Chili Dinner. We invite everyone on campus and in the community! We have dinner announcements and ticket sales, along with putting fliers in our neighbors' mailboxes. It's a great time to sit around and catch up with some friends with some hot, homemade chili.

Another event we’ve recently added to our Shamrock Week is our Dodgeball  Tournament. Held at ARC Gym this past year due to increased involvement, was sponsored by Monster, and all competitors received free Monster products. Congratulations to all the teams that competed!

With the help from those we care about, we've been able to be one of the top-ranking chapters nationally to raise money for the prevention of child abuse.

This March, Shamrock Project will be bigger and better than ever! Planning has already begun and we look forward to seeing you all in the community during this exciting time. Information will be posted on the offical Shamrock website  www.kdshamrock.com so check there for the most current news.

Thanks to everyone who has helped make Shamrock Week an incredibly powerful and memorable event on our campus! We couldn't do it without you!
